Today's spa services read like a bloated, high-priced exotic restaurant menu. Vendors and spas constantly come up with new and creative ways to market skincare products to keep the client enticed. But, are you going for the EXPERIENCE or are you going for PROVEN, SAFE skincare therapies?
Granted, there are substances extracted from the aforementioned products that have positive beneficial effects. Silver is anti-microbial, certain fruits contain enzymes, bamboo is fibrous and can be used to exfoliate the skin, caffeine in coffee has a temporary diuretic effect. But, are the results what you expected, or do you leave craving a Star Bucks?
I prefer to offer you skincare products and services that are time-tested, results-oriented, and not harmful to your body. Yes, some of my products are gorgeously infused with organic essential oils of rose and lavender, or refreshing mints and citrus - However, a great deal of them are unscented and very pure and unadulterated. The ingredient lists aren't long and complicated. The less substances put on the skin, the less likelihood of irritation, sensitivity and allergenicy.
I don't like the one-treatment-fits-all mentality. You are not just another client. You are unique with varying skin types and issues that are a result of heredity, age, lifestyle, sun exposure, stress, environment, diet, and health. You may NEVER receive the exact type of facial at Skinplicity because they are always customized to treat you and what is going on with your skin at that point in time... If you and your girlfriend want the same exact 'Polynesian Fruit Whip facial' experience... chances are you won't get that at Skinplicity.
At the end of the day, whether you spent $40 or $400, if the facial doesn't have the active, beneficial substances and services to effect a positive change in your skin, it's not worth it.
